How To Use This Flu Site

My name is Barbara, and in November of 2004, I had the exciting (!) experience of leaving my home at 3am and driving to a town to hold a spot for a friend of mine who qualified for a flu shot.

While I gracefully froze outside, it occured to me I could have made my soujourn far more comfortable, if only I had known. Known about bringing extra blankets. Known about verifying my gloves were nimble enough to turn the pages of the book I had brought (answer - nope). Known about bringing a chair! And so on, and so on.

But there's more to it than simple suggestions. The time we were told the clinic opened (10:30am) was changed that morning to 8:30am (much to the grateful appreciation of the line waiters). As it was first-come, first serve, the line already was a hundred strong by that time...still, how many residents figured they'd wait until 10:30am to come on by?

And that's why I created this flu site. I went thru the learning experience - you can benefit from my experience and not make those mistakes!! You can learn about some common-sense tips and ideas that will make your flu line waiting more tolerable (especially in 28 degree weather).
